Reading Changed My Life

While reading the story of Maria in Reading Changed My Life. It made me realize how blessed I am today to have a family that gives me the support and a roof to live under of. Hearing upon Maria's life, it made me think about my grandmas life and where she came from. My mother also came from a life similar to Maria's in which she was left pregnant at the age of eighteen. At the age of eighteen, my mom met my dad through church where then she fell in love with him. While having to deal with a new father figure for my sister, or as you would say, half sister, we can infer that it took awhile for her to come comfortable with some stranger that had just entered her life. Education was the first priority our mom had for each and every one of us out of three. Being raised by my wonderful mother, we have all grown up to independent and graduate high school with 3.5 GPA's or higher. Just looking back at how it all started makes me realize that God has blessed me a long the way with an amazing and supportive family.
