The novel, Handle With Care, written by Jodi Picoult, is about a young girl
named Willow, who suffers with brittle bone syndrome, which prevents her from
living a normal life. Willow’s bones break on a normal basis and she always has
a cast on at least one part of her body. Her family struggles with the medical
payments and the constant worrying that something terrible might happen to
their daughter or sister. By reading this novel, I now appreciate my life. I
used to always think that my life was horrible and meaningless but after
reading Handle With Care, I realized
that there are so many people out there that are struggling through something a
lot worse than me. I feel so pathetic that I complained about the smallest
things that didn’t even matter. My little problems don't even compare to the horrible and tragic events that people are going through right now. I now see life in a completely different
way. I am grateful for what I have and
will always remember to thank everybody who has made my life perfect the way it
is.
I agree that sometimes we think our lives are tough, but there are others out there who has it worse than us.
