As a child I liked to read the Junie B. Jones series by Barbara Park. My one time favorite book that I liked from Barbara Park is called, "Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus." Her real name is Junie Beatrice Jones but she didn't like people calling her Beatrice so she would always abreviate it with "B." This book is about how she didn't like to go to school especially having to ride the bus. Influenced by one of her best friends Lucille to not ride the bus especially because she will get bullied on. Although she felt animosity about going to school she ends up going. In school she learned that school wasn't so bad as she thought it was. She is very amiable towards making new friends and made antagonists as well as, what she considered "rivals". Even though she would hear other children not liking school, she learned how to like school and igmore others.
I can say that I read most of the Junie B. Jones seires but my inclination towards this specific book is because I can relate to it. When I started kindergarten I remember not wanting to go because it seemed to be as how my older brother would describe it, and would demoralize me of wanting to go to school. Also, I remember meeting another girl who wasn't so friendly to me. Despite all what was going on I learned to like school, I actually looked forward to going to school. This book changed my life because as I got older I thought different of school. How enjoying school would make learning intresting. Another reason why, is because I learned that you shouldn't let anyone influence you. I think you should go ahead and try things yourself and you will learn from it. I would recommend these books to kids beause each book has its main idea which kids can learn from, understand better, but most importantly feel confident about themselves by knowing they're not the only ones feeling or going thru the same situation.
I loved these books too!
