A Child Called "It" By Dave Pelzer is a very sad true story of a little boy whos mother was an alcoholic. She would abuse him and play torturous games with him, she would brutally beat him and starve him for days untill she fealt it was time for him to eat. The little boy did not even have a room with a bed and toys like a regular child would, he slept in the bacment with only an army coat to cover himself and to sleep on. Dispite all the bad things that happen to him he never gave up and keept trying to survive. This book made me see things in a diffrent way because im always complaining how my mom is mean or dosent let me go out as much. In reality it is nothing compared to what Dave Pelzer had to go through. Many people complain about little thing that are not that significant and once it starts to get hard they give up. People should see the example of Dave Pelzer and what he went through he is now a very successful man because he was able to over come his fears and never gave up, in 1994 he was honored as one of the outstanding young persons of the world.
